Barber Dime

The Barber Dime was minted from 1892 to 1916.  The Barber series also included the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The Barber series was designed by Charles Barber and is sometimes referred to as the Liberty Head series.

The coin features a Liberty head with a cap and wreath. The image was inspired by Greek and Roman models. "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears along the top of the coin with 13 stars running along the sides. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of Agricultural products with "ONE DIME" in the center. The mink mark, if present, was located below the wreath.

The 1894 S series Barber Dime is one of the most valuable coins ever produced. Only 24 coins were produced and only nine remain today. One of the nine sold for almost $2 million last year.
