The Susan B. Anthony Dollar coin was minted from 1979 to 1981, it was also minted again in 1999. The coin features women's suffrage leader Susan B. Anthony surrounded by 13 stars. The reverse features an eagle flying above the moon (the design was used from the Apollo 11 mission insignia).
The Susan B. Anthony coin appears 11 sided, though it is truely round. There were many issues with the Susan B. Anthony coin including its similarities in size and color to the quarter. Because of these issues, minimal numbers of the coin were produced in 1980 and only collector sets were produced in 1981.
The Susan B. Anthony is notable for collectors because it was the last coin produced with the S mint mark (San Francisco) for circulation. The Susan B. is an easy coin to collect because of its large mintage numbers during its short mint span.
